The Macquarie Marketing Group was founded in 1996. Our team comprises senior sales, marketing and general managers, all with extensive international experience in these fields. Most also have high level tertiary qualifications in these areas.

The team is experienced, practical and results focussed and has the particular ability to

Tony Pfeiffer
Director

Tony has over 35 years senior level experience in sales and general management with leading global organisations. This has included national responsibilities as General Manager at the British Oxygen Company (Commonwealth Industrial Gases) in Australia, as CEO of Thai Industrial Gases and MD of a number of Pacific Island subsidiaries.

As founding partner of Macquarie Marketing, Tony has worked with a wide cross section of industries in such key areas as market segmentation, market research, customer management, sales effectiveness and major customer management.

Tony has extensive knowledge of the Asian business segments having been involved in establishing subsidiaries of leading global organisations in Indonesia, Philippines and Taiwan. Over the past six years he has provided consulting services to leading organisations in the region.

Tony has extensive international hands-on experience in general management and sales management, customer relationship management, sales recovery and effectiveness programs, strategic customer reviews and sales coaching.

He is also the primary developer of several of MMG's advanced customer management and sales management software tools.

Tony was also instrumental in establishing a business unit within MMG specifically focusing on education and in introducing business best practices to strategic reviews and satisfaction studies in the education segment.

Ellis Moate
Director

Ellis has over 25 years business experience with major Australian and Global companies, including General Management responsibilities encompassing Commercial, Information Technology, Sales Management and National business accountability.

During his time with Macquarie Marketing Ellis has worked with many major Australian and Global organisations to optimise their Sales and Marketing processes. Ellis has deep experience assisting his clients' retain, develop and grow their customers through - customer and market segmentation, benchmarking, process redesign, along with raining and coaching.

Ellis has worked extensively throughout most countries in Asia in his business and consulting career, gaining first hand experience with the managerial issues of developing and implementing world class Sales and Marketing practices across the region.

Ellis brings to all his projects a successful formula based on deep management experience, successful hands on consulting assignments, extensive international business exposure and a personal drive and energy that ensures the highest standards of customer satisfaction and project quality.

Mike Crisp
Associate Director

Mike Crisp, Associate Director. Mike has 17 years industry and work experience spanning market research, strategic planning, data warehousing and tertiary education. Coming from an applied business background he has extensive experience in database/data warehouse software design, installation and application.

His market research and statistical background provide the skills necessary to not only develop data analysis models and systems but to analyse and exploit them to their fullest potential. He has extensive experience in the areas of Project Management, Customer Value Management, Statistical Analysis, Data Cleansing, Longitudinal Data Analysis and Management Reporting Systems.

Mikes many years of experience in diverse industries has given him a rich base of skills. His past employers and clients include IBM Australia, Leo Burnett, National Australia Bank, Mercantile Mutual, ING Bank, Sun Alliance, Astra Pharmaceuticals, TAFE NSW and the University of Technology Sydney.

Mike is co-author of Australia's largest selling Market Research Textbook - "Market Research - An Applied Orientation" - Prentice Hall 1997.

Paul Sparks
Associate Director

Paul Sparks, Associate Director. Paul has 30 years experience in the areas of sales, sales management, human resources, coaching, training and staff development.

Paul has worked in direct sales and sales management with market leaders in the business productivity, IT and business services sectors for a number of leading international corporations including Canon, Ricoh, AT&T and Lend Lease. During this time Paul was highly successful in initiating sales strategies and in achieving and maintaining high levels of satisfaction and loyalty from a diverse range of customers including QBE Insurance, Westfield Limited, Telstra and The University of NSW. Paul is also well versed in the provision of products and services to the SME sector and has wide experience working with franchise organisations including Kwik-Kopy, Bakers' Delight, Just Cuts and Caltex.

He has worked with numerous professional services organisations to optimise their service delivery. These include Price Waterhouse Coopers, Grant Thornton and Australian Business Limited.

Paul has a strong interest in the area of human development and in providing professional coaching and guidance on a wide range of sales, marketing and personal effectiveness topics to salespeople and executives at any point in their career. To complement his extensive market experience, he has recently completed his Masters Degree in Human Resource Management and Coaching Psychology at the University of Sydney.

Paul is a member of the Australian Institute of Management, the Australian Human Resources Institute, the International Coaching Federation and the International Society for Performance Improvement.

Kate Lewis
Associate Director

Kate Lewis, Associate Director, has over 15 years of senior sales and marketing management experience both in the Australia and overseas.

Kate is an energetic and passionate member of the team and during her time with Macquarie Marketing she has worked with many leading Australian clients conducting customer management reviews, benchmarking studies, customer and market research and delivering tailored customer management training.

She also has extensive experience in sales force effectiveness, customer relationship management, customer segmentation, project management, statistical analysis, people management and developing customer contact strategies.

In addition to her extensive experience in Business-to-Business sales and customer management, Kate also holds a Masters in Business Administration.

John Cochrane
Associate Director

A graduate of the Royal Military College Duntroon, John spent over 20 years in the Army in postings that took him around the world. He enjoyed a varied career in operational, training and staff appointments and he ended his active service in 1987 as a Lieutenant Colonel. He subsequently served a further 12 years rising to the rank of Brigadier in the Reserve, all in command roles, and in recognition was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia.

In his commercial life, John has filled a wide variety of line management, sales, customer relationship and business development positions, most at national level. He has also assisted in a number of large scale acquisitions and managed a major re-branding exercise. John is focussed on business growth and in some 13 years with Chubb, in the highly competitive area of security personnel, he was a key participant in them achieving market leadership and a revenue increase of over 300%.

John joined Macquarie Marketing Group in May 2005 and his background and experiences in sales and marketing will further complement the team in assisting clients to realise their unique potential.

Nicholas Guyatt
Associate Director & MMG School Team Leader and Specialist Advisor

At MMG, Nicholas leads a team that has specialist experience in the administration and governance of schools, as teachers, administrators, members of School Councils and specialist education consultants. He has directed projects that have involved best-practice bench-marking of enrolment and marketing operations in major independent schools and has worked closely with school Principals and Boards with the drafting and implementation of strategic reviews. In particular, Nicholas has broad experience in the planning and conduct of school stakeholder satisfaction and loyalty studies, including the facilitation of focus groups. He has worked closely with Principals and senior staff in both independent and state systems, assisting in change management using techniques such as executive coaching.

Nicholas had more than 30 years experience as a Primary and Secondary teacher and administrator in the Catholic and non-Catholic independent school systems in Victoria and New South Wales. Among his appointments prior to working with MMG, Nicholas held senior appointments at The Scots College, Sydney, for eighteen years, including those of Headmaster of the Preparatory School and Dean of the College.

Nicholas is a graduate of Monash University and the University of New South Wales, holding a Diploma of Teaching (Dip T) and a Master's Degree in Educational Administration (M EdAdmin). He is a Member of the Australian College of Educators (MACE) and a Member of the Institute of Arbitrators and Mediators of Australia (MIAMA) and the Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators (MAIFLAM).
